Definition
A codimension-two submanifold in the cotangent bundle where the switching function vanishes. The extremal flow may switch control direction (from positive to negative thrust) or enter singular arcs at these points. The stratification of the switching surface (Σ_-, Σ_0, Σ_+) determines the local structure of optimal controls.
