Cislunar Domain Awareness

Definition
The capability to detect, track, catalog, and assess the intent of objects in cislunar space. Ground-based observation is limited by range (cislunar objects are approximately ten times farther than GEO) and viewing geometry constraints. Space-based sensors in cislunar and Lagrange point orbits are needed to supplement ground coverage. Compared to near-Earth SDA, cislunar domain awareness faces larger distance scales, more complex three-body dynamics, and more limited observation geometries.
Application Value
This term has significant practical applications in cislunar mission planning and execution.
