Definition
A phenomenon where a celestial body transitions from one orbital resonance ratio to another through temporary capture by a planet. Classic examples are Jupiter's comets Oterma and Gehrels 3, which hop from 3:2 to 2:3 resonance under the control of libration point orbit manifolds. This demonstrates the key role of LPO manifolds in natural dynamical channels of the solar system.
Application Value
This control method can be applied to spacecraft attitude stabilization, orbit keeping, and maneuver trajectory optimization in cislunar space missions, improving mission execution flexibility and reliability.
