Definition
A continuous time segment in bang-bang optimal control where the control variable remains at a fixed extreme value (maximum or minimum thrust). Without state constraints, the fuel-optimal powered descent has at most three subarcs in max-min-max order; with glide slope constraints, more subarcs are possible.
Application Value
