Definition
Eigenvalues of the monodromy matrix of a periodic orbit's linearized system. For typical unstable periodic orbits near collinear libration points, there are six eigenvalues: a real pair (mu1 > 1 and mu2 = 1/mu1 < 1) governing stability, a unit-modulus complex conjugate pair for in-plane oscillation, and two unit eigenvalues for orbital phase freedom. When the dominant Floquet multiplier exceeds unity, the orbit is unstable, and its associated eigenvectors define stable and unstable manifolds exploitable for low-energy transfer design.
