Manifold Segment

Definition
A portion of the stable manifold of a halo orbit. A spacecraft on the manifold segment asymptotically approaches the target halo orbit along its unstable manifold; the spacecraft is considered to have entered the halo orbit when it comes within 100 km of it. The manifold segment is generated by backward propagation from the halo orbit after applying a 100 km position perturbation along the stable eigenvector.
