Definition
A micro-newton to milli-newton level thrust continuously applied throughout a transfer trajectory using high-specific-impulse electric propulsion. Unlike impulsive chemical burns, continuous low-thrust trajectory design requires solving an optimal control problem for thrust direction and magnitude at every instant.
Application Value
The control curve describes the range of attainable low-thrust Hamiltonian values, providing a basis for optimal trajectory design.
