Phasing Maneuver

Definition
An orbital maneuver performed between the end of the Earth–Moon transfer phase and the beginning of proximity operations in a cislunar rendezvous mission. When the target vehicle orbits on a periodic trajectory such as an NRHO, the chaser arriving in the Moon's vicinity may have a phase offset from the target. The phasing maneuver closes this gap, enabling the chaser to enter the target's proximity. The paper proposes two implementations: a two-impulse strategy exploiting the natural dynamics of Halo parking orbits, and a three-impulse low-energy strategy exploiting invariant manifolds.
