Definition

An auxiliary variable introduced in constrained optimization to incorporate equality constraints into the objective function. In trajectory optimization, Lagrange multipliers integrate boundary conditions into the Hamiltonian framework, representing the marginal rate of change of the objective function with respect to constraint variation.

Application Value
