Stability Region

Definition
The region of initial conditions around a triangular libration point within which the spacecraft remains bounded over its operational lifetime. For the Earth-Moon system under CR3BP, initial deviations up to tens of thousands of km are permissible, but solar perturbations render this region impractical without active control.
Application Value
In orbit design and control system analysis, the Lyapunov method provides an effective means to assess system stability without solving differential equations, particularly suitable for analyzing trans-lunar transfer orbits and orbit stability near small celestial bodies.
