Lambert patching method
Author: Tianjiang Shuo Website: https://cislunarspace.cn
Definition
A hybrid low-energy transfer strategy that patches a Lambert transfer segment with a reverse-integrated trajectory along the principal stretching direction. The patching point requires an impulse to connect the two segments, and the ratio of segment durations balances transfer time against fuel cost.
Application Value
Multi-impulse maneuvers apply velocity increments in segments, enabling more flexible Earth-Moon transfer trajectory design and suitable for orbit transfers under complex mission constraints.
