Definition
The instability characteristic of orbits near triangular libration points under solar gravitational perturbation. Unlike the strong instability (fast exponential divergence) at collinear points, triangular points have weaker instability, allowing orbits to remain nearly stable for extended periods with minimal station-keeping. This property makes dynamical substitutes viable host orbits for navigation satellites.
