Definition
The insertion strategy in which the final maneuver places the spacecraft onto the stable manifold of the Halo orbit, after which the spacecraft naturally winds onto the orbit via the manifold. Since the target is a two-dimensional surface rather than a curve, the parameter space is larger and the optimization problem harder, but fuel savings are potentially greater because the manifold provides a zero-cost approach path.
