Definition

The periodic orbit around Earth from which a spacecraft begins a low-thrust transfer. In this study, the IPO is a nearly circular, approximately one-day-period orbit in the PCR3BP with radius similar to GEO, parameterized by a dimensionless time variable τ that uniquely defines the ignition position.

Application Value

Initial Periodic Orbit is an important orbit type in cislunar trajectory design, widely applied in mission planning.
