Definition
An electric propulsion system powered by solar arrays that converts electrical energy into propellant kinetic energy. It produces low thrust (typically ~10⁻⁵g₀) but high specific impulse (>3000 s), enabling long-duration missions with less propellant. Demonstrated by Deep Space 1 and ESA SMART-1.
Application Value
The 太阳能电推进 concept is applied in cislunar space research, providing technical support or analytical methods for lunar exploration missions.
