Definition
A design strategy that divides the Earth-moon low-thrust transfer mission into two phases. The first phase raises altitude from LEO to GEO, where third-body effects are weak and the classical shape function suffices. The second phase transfers from GEO to L1, where both primaries exert comparable gravity, requiring the modified shape function. The two phases satisfy position and flight-path angle continuity at the junction.
