Definition
An arrival mode in which the Earth-Moon transfer flight time is less than half the period of the geocentric transfer orbit, i.e., the true anomaly at lunar arrival satisfies f <= pi. Short-reach arrival is superior in both energy and time to long-reach arrival and is the preferred mode for crewed lunar Hohmann transfers.
Application Value
Based on its definition, an arrival mode in which the earth-moon transfer flight time is less than half the period of the geocentric transfer orbit, i.e., the true anomaly at lunar arrival satisfies f <= pi. short-reach arriv.
