Definition
The first-phase lunar navigation satellite system designed in this paper. It consists of three Elliptical Lunar Frozen Orbit (ELFO) satellites and one L2 Southern Halo satellite. The ELFO satellites are evenly distributed on orbits with semi-major axis 6142.58 km, eccentricity 0.6, and inclination 51.7° (with mean anomalies differing by 120°), while the Halo satellite is deployed in an L2 Southern Near-Rectilinear Halo Orbit. This scheme achieves continuous visibility of at least one satellite at the Lunar South Pole with positioning accuracy better than 5 m.
Application Value
Navigation system design and implementation must account for observation geometry, error propagation, and signal transmission delay. This concept supports positioning accuracy evaluation, navigation filter design, and constellation optimization.
