Hill Frame

Definition
A local rectangular coordinate system with the reference spacecraft at the origin; the x-axis points radially outward from the primary body, the y-axis along the flight direction (orbital velocity), and the z-axis perpendicular to the orbital plane (along angular momentum). Relative motion and interferometric baselines of near-Earth formation satellites are commonly described in this frame. However, for non-Keplerian orbits such as Halo orbits, the traditional Hill frame is inadequate, requiring instead a rotation coordinate system centered on the libration point.
Application Value
Hill 坐标系以参考spacecraftfor 原点, x 沿径向、y 沿航迹方向、z 垂直orbit面. 近地编队卫星 of relativemotion常用此坐标系describe, 但对 Halo orbit不再适用.
