Definition
The region of permitted motion defined by the Jacobi integral in position space. In the (q1,q2)-plane, Hill regions are bounded by zero-velocity surfaces (level sets of the effective potential), indicating where the third body can reach.
Application Value
This concept is applicable in cislunar space mission design, orbit optimization, and trajectory planning for spacecraft transfers and maneuver strategies.
