Definition
A fundamental linear algebra concept. The monodromy matrix of a libration point periodic orbit in CRTBP has four eigenvalues: two equal to 1 (periodic direction), one with magnitude less than 1 (stable), and one greater than 1 (unstable).
Application Value
This concept plays a key role in trajectory transfer design, helping evaluate transfer costs and flight time to provide quantitative basis for mission trade studies. Combined with global search algorithms, multiple solution families and Pareto frontiers can be identified to guide orbital design decisions.
