Definition
The minimum angular separation between the Moon and a target below which a sensor ceases observation due to lunar stray light overwhelming the target signal. This paper demonstrates LEA is the dominant variable for tracking uptime: reducing LEA from 5 deg to 1 deg increases trackable time from near-zero to ~50% of the synodic period for L2 Halo targets.
