Definition
In the restricted three-body problem, the two-dimensional tubular structure formed by stable and unstable manifolds of a Lyapunov orbit expanding in configuration space. Conley and McGehee proved this tube acts as a separatrix between transit and non-transit orbits, with all transit trajectories packed inside. An important tool for analyzing transfer conditions near libration points.
