Definition
The event of debris impacting the lunar surface. The paper analyzes lunar impact characteristics from break-up events on different orbits (NRHO, Halo, DRO), including impact velocity, angle, and location distribution. Results show that NRHO periapsis events produce the highest lunar impact fraction (~37% within 30 days), but have relatively lower probability of affecting the lunar south pole.
