Definition
The dynamical nature of collinear libration points (L1, L2, L3): their linearized state matrices have eigenvalues with both positive and negative real parts, forming a saddle structure in phase space. A spacecraft near such a point diverges approximately exponentially along unstable manifolds under small perturbations, requiring continuous active control for sustained orbiting.
Application Value
This concept provides fundamental support in cislunar space research and mission design. In practical applications, the appropriate analysis method should be selected based on specific mission scenarios and constraints.
