Definition
The critical maneuver of applying a velocity increment at the NRHO perilune to inject the spacecraft from an elliptical lunar orbit into NRHO. NRHOI magnitude depends on timing: about 217 m/s for IDT (due to velocity direction mismatch), about 50 m/s for PRM, and as low as 3 m/s for EPRM Type 2. When NRHOI exceeds a threshold (below 50 m/s increment value), NRHO stability breaks down, causing orbital drift or lunar impact.
