Definition
A crewed space facility on a Halo orbit near the Earth-Moon L2 libration point. Since L2 lies behind the Moon, a direct station would suffer communication blackout; the Halo orbit's altitude avoids lunar occultation. Its invariant manifolds extend into deep space, making it ideal for crewed deep-space exploration. It scored highest in the overall evaluation (~9,952 m/s total delta-v).
Application Value
The Halo orbit family provides long-term stable parking points for cislunar space missions, serving as a transit station to the lunar south pole region and deep space.
