Definition
An architecture using libration point orbit satellites to relay communication signals between lunar surface facilities and Earth. First proposed by Farquhar in 1967 to solve the problem of the lunar far side being unable to directly communicate with Earth. This paper extends the concept to the lunar south pole: an inter-satellite link is also established between the two spacecraft, enabling relay through the other satellite when one has line-of-sight to the lunar surface but is blocked from direct Earth communication by the moon.
