SpaceX Deploys 1,000th Starlink Satellite of 2026

Summary: On April 14, 2026, SpaceX successfully launched the Starlink 10-24 mission from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, deploying 29 Starlink broadband internet satellites into low Earth orbit. This was SpaceX's 37th dedicated Starlink mission of 2026 and brought the total number of Starlink satellites deployed this year to 1,002, marking a significant milestone in the company's rapid satellite constellation expansion.

Mission Details

The Starlink 10-24 mission lifted off at 5:33:10 a.m. EDT (0933:10 UTC) from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The rocket flew on a north-easterly trajectory, deploying 29 Starlink V2 Mini satellites into orbit approximately one hour after liftoff.

SpaceX used a Falcon 9 first stage booster with tail number B1080, making its 26th flight. The booster previously supported Axiom Mission 2, Axiom Mission 3, and CRS-30, among other missions. Approximately 8.5 minutes after liftoff, B1080 landed on the drone ship "Just Read the Instructions" stationed in the Atlantic Ocean—this was the 157th booster landing on that vessel and the 598th total booster landing to date.

With this successful mission, SpaceX's Starlink constellation now comprises over 10,200 satellites in orbit. In 2026 alone, SpaceX has deployed 1,002 Starlink satellites across 37 dedicated missions, maintaining an extremely high launch cadence.
