Gravity-1 Rocket Achieves Maiden Flight Success
Summary: On October 11, 2025 (Beijing Time), the Gravity-1 carrier rocket developed by Orienspace was successfully launched on its maiden flight from a near-Earth orbit launch site in Haiyang, Shandong Province, placing 3 satellites into their planned orbits. Gravity-1 was China's largest private launch vehicle at the time, with a low Earth orbit payload capacity of 6 tons. This successful maiden flight validated the feasibility of solid sea-based launch technology and marked a new stage for China's private commercial space industry.
