The BeiDou-3 global navigation satellite system was officially completed and put into operation in July 2020, with more than 30 BeiDou satellites currently in orbit providing positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services to users worldwide. The next-generation test satellite launched this time will be primarily used to verify the technical architecture and key performance parameters of the new-generation navigation satellites, laying the technical foundation for the comprehensive future upgrade of the BeiDou system.
