China Space Public Welfare Ambassador Visits Sichuan University
Summary: On April 24, the "China Space Public Welfare Ambassador" campus outreach event, co-hosted by the China National Space Administration (CNSA) News Publicity Center and Sichuan University, was successfully held at the Jiang'an Campus. Beidou Deputy Chief Designer Xie Jun, CAS Academician Zhang Bing, and Shenzhou XVII astronaut Jiang Xinlin engaged with over 400 students and faculty, sharing stories of China's space endeavors and inspiring young people to join the space sector.

The event was hosted by Xiong Wei, Director of the Student Affairs Department. Li Yang, Deputy Director of the CNSA News Publicity Center, stated in his opening remarks that the magnificent achievements of China's space industry over the past 70 years have ignited the sense of glory and dreams in every Chinese person. The brilliant deeds of generations of space workers serve as an example to inspire young students to strive for excellence. This event aimed to popularize space knowledge, promote the space spirit, and spread space culture, hoping that young people would keep exploring the cosmos and contribute to the nation through science and technology.
During the thematic presentations, Xie Jun, Deputy Chief Designer of the Beidou Major Special Project, gave a comprehensive review of Beidou's path of independent innovation. CAS Academician Zhang Bing provided an in-depth analysis of how space technology empowers the national economy and people's livelihoods. Shenzhou XVII astronaut Jiang Xinlin emotionally shared his growth journey and struggle story of being selected through rigorous training and eventually becoming an astronaut to fulfill his space dreams.
During the interactive Q&A session, students eagerly participated, asking questions about Beidou independent R&D, cutting-edge remote sensing technology, the experiences of astronauts, and pathways for youth development. The atmosphere was enthusiastic and engaging.
